BioMAC
BioMaterial and BioAnalytical Chemistry Lab
Welcome to Bio-MAC Lab!
Improved technology improves health –
The improvements of medical devices performance and the diagnostics power facilitate better disease managements in hospitals. In our Lab, the major interests focus on developments of bioanalytical assays and technologies with specific emphasis on biological/clinical applications.
We have applied microsphere-based liquid chip (suspension microarray) as the core technology for multi-parametric profiling to systemically identify potential disease biomarkers in disorders such as sepsis, cardiovascular diseases and cancers. We combine both micro-scaled particulate systems and molecular/cell biology techniques to develop high sensitivity and multiplexed diagnostic tools. We are also interested in various nanomaterials (including nanoclusters, silica and carbon-based materials) for targeted drug delivery systems and sensing.
Students can anticipate working in a lively integrated and interdisciplinary atmosphere. The projects have strong industrial aspects such as biosensors or assay developments for clinical diagnostics. Opportunities will be available for students to pursue their research in academic or industrial settings.
We are continuously seeking PhD/master and undergraduated students who are interested in the development of novel bio-analytical technologies. Post-docs who are interested in working in our lab are also welcomed for discussion!
